For this painting I used a photograph taken from 1954 of my parents. My mother was 19 at the time and I think this is from their wedding celebration?
The photo was a household icon that I was used to seeing around
as a child growing up. It resurfaced in the 90's and I promised my self
that I would base a painting on it. Completed it in 2005 unfortunately my mother passed away two years later.

I presently reside in Yaroomba near the town of Coolum Beach on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. I have been consistently producing art work for a good portion of my life. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and an Art Education Certificate from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. I was born and raised in the city of Chicago, but since 1996 I live and work in Australia . My artistic influences are pretty eclectic. I am thoroughly steeped in the history of western art from ancient to modern and I have explored thoroughly the art of Islam, ancient Greek, Roman, Sumerian and Egyptian art as well.
